ACCESS HEALTH CT ANNOUNCES 2027 OPEN ENROLLMENT DATES

Connecticut residents can begin enrolling October 23

HARTFORD, Conn. (July 15, 2026) — Access Health CT (AHCT), Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace, today announced the 2027 Open Enrollment Period will run from Oct. 23 through Dec. 23. Open enrollment is the time for Connecticut residents to shop, compare, and enroll in or renew their health and dental insurance.

The date that customers enroll determines when coverage starts. If customers enroll on or before Dec. 15, 2026, coverage will start Jan. 1, 2027. If they enroll between Dec. 16, 2026 and Dec. 23, 2026, coverage will begin Feb. 1, 2027.

In recent years, open enrollment for AHCT has run from Nov. 1 through Jan. 15. New federal changes had required marketplaces to limit their Open Enrollment Periods to nine weeks and end by Dec. 31 but this is now subject to a lawsuit challenging the change.

“We want to make sure our customers get ahead of their health insurance decisions before the end of the year,” said Access Health CT Chief Executive Officer James Michel. “By beginning a week earlier than we have in the past, it gives our customers more time to look at their options and use the free help we offer online, in person and over the phone.”

Despite federal changes, financial help remains available. AHCT is the only place Connecticut residents can get financial help to pay for their health insurance. Some customers might also qualify for the Covered CT Program. This program provides no-cost insurance for eligible residents.

“Even outside open enrollment, our customers can come to us and we’ll get them the help they need,” Michel added.

Customers can visit AccessHealthCT.com and click the “Get Help” button on the homepage to find the option that works best for them—schedule an appointment, find a nearby Navigator site or connect with a Certified Broker in their area.

There are six Navigator locations across the state, which are open year-round. AHCT also has a Mobile Enrollment Team that offers free one-on-one sessions with trained professionals who can answer questions and assist residents with in-person enrollment. That help is available in English and Spanish.

To get help over the phone, customers can call 1-855-805-4325, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Help is available in over 100 languages.
