Access Health CT Announces The Start of 2019 Health Insurance Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment through Access Health CT is November 1 to December 15, 2018
HARTFORD, Conn. (November 1, 2018)— The Lt. Governor and the Chair of the Access Health CT Board of Directors, Nancy Wyman, and the Chief Executive Officer of Access Health CT (AHCT), James Michel, today announced that the 2019 Open Enrollment period has begun. Connecticut residents can buy or renew health insurance plans on the exchange from November 1 to December 15, 2018, with their coverage starting on January 1, 2019.

“The most important message for Connecticut residents is that we are here to help—and it’s key to start the process as early as you can,” said Chief Executive Officer of Access Health CT, James Michel. “We are making it easier for customers to shop and compare plans that take into account their doctors, prescription drugs, and medical needs by going to our site and clicking on the Compare Plans link.

Access Health CT customers with a 2018 plan have been notified if they are eligible to be auto-enrolled into a new plan for 2019. Changes to plans for 2019 could mean changes to monthly payments, deductibles and other areas relating to the plans, which is why it is so important to shop and compare plans this year before enrolling.

“Starting today, Access Health CT will be offering free in-person help around the state with seven enrollment centers and six fairs throughout Connecticut. In addition, there are hundreds of brokers who can help residents by recommending a plan,” said Lt. Governor Wyman. “And as a reminder, financial help is still available and only through AHCT.”
