HARTFORD, Conn. (October 16, 2019)—Today, Access Health CT (AHCT) is welcoming more than 200 people at their fourth annual Community Conference connecting Community Partners and preparing for the Open Enrollment period, beginning November 1, 2019 and ending December 15, 2019.
“Access Health CT is all about connecting people,” said Chief Executive Officer of Access Health CT, James Michel. “We connect people to health insurance plans that help them be and stay healthy. What we have learned is that connections start at a community level and our conference is focused on how to best serve communities and deliver the best possible customer experience.”
AHCT’s CEO, James Michel, will continue a conference tradition by awarding an important community connector. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut Health Foundation, Patricia Baker, was honored with the Commitment to Community award. This award recognizes individuals who live AHCT’s values and demonstrate resilience, determination and passion for delivering vital healthcare information to the community.
Baker founded the Connecticut Health Foundation in 1999. Under her leadership, it has become the state’s largest independent health philanthropy. Through a dedication to achieving health equity, Pat and her team focus on improving health outcomes for people of color and assuring that all Connecticut residents have access to affordable and high-quality care.
“We share a lot with the Foundation’s goals,” said Michel. “That everyone deserves the opportunity to be as healthy as possible—regardless of race, background or income level.”
In addition, to support one of the organization’s strategic focuses around the improvement of Customer Experience, the 2019 keynote address will be given by the first person to ever hold the title of Chief Experience Officer (CXO), Ingrid Lindberg of Chief Customer.
Before Lindberg’s keynote, attendees will break out into workshops to cover important topics including healthcare and immigration, outreach strategies to connect communities, new updates to processes, understanding healthcare options (including COBRA, Husky and Medicare) and commonly asked questions.
